Fair Wind Sailing School

Does anyone have an opinion to offer in regards to Fair Wind Sailing School? Are the week long trips bent more towards learning or vacation? Any thoughts on value?

Re: Fair Wind Sailing School

Fair Winds runs charters and has a sailing school. We did not have a good experience with them. The owner was disorganized and didn't communicate our arrival details or information that we needed prior to departure. The boat was old and had been on a few too many charters without sufficient upkeep. When we had mechanical problems, the owner kept referring back to the fine print of the contract.

Sadly, we did not have a good vacation. Apparently Fair Winds has a bad reputation in the USVIs and BVIs and the school isn't certified by any recognized sailing associations. We will use another company for our next trip.

We love the USVIs and BVIs though! Have a great vacation!
