Got a new dink
One of the guys that has a boat here at the marina had this in his garage taking up space and could not get it started. So yesterday he brought it down on his trailer and gave it to me. It even floats :-D :-D Turned out that it was just old fuel in the carb and a flat batterie. After an hour I had it up and running, So now I have a vehicle to go shopping with as the nearest supermarket is just on the other side of the river, I can get there now in 10 minutes instead of half an hour in the car. If I make a bracket for an outboard motor, i can get there even faster.

You're too much. How will you get it back to Germany? I imagine it'll cause a bit of drag trailing behind your boat.

Why add an engine when you have a that black bi-pod mast already installed, just waiting for a sail to get you going? The lights mean you can even handle the sail at night if need be.

I suggest both.

Re: Got a new dink
Had a friend who owned one back in the 70s. Fun as a novelty to drive into the water, but he didnt have an outboard. He relied on large treads to paddle wheel thru the water. I recall it being pretty unstable with weight in it or with any chop and it was broken down most of the time.

Not sure where you are, but around here I would think it would need to be registered to be either on the road or water or both.

Free is a good price, just hoping the PO didn't have a good reason for it.

Re: Got a new dink
I'll justr call it my dink and then don't have to register it as I run a union jack on the back of my boat and dinks don't have to be registered. :)
