Washed up on shore - see the "rescue"

I'd recommend starting the video around 12:00

I'll bite my tongue commenting on the process.

It seems like an extreme method to sand the bottom :).

Lucky owner - had a crane, backhoe, lots of assistance AND a sandy beach. Sure beats grounding in the middle of nowhere on rock or coral.

Loved the backhoe push at the end.

That was one pretty boat. Glad to see it freed.

It looks like those backhoe operators have done this before. :)

Glad this did not happen in theU.S., otherwise EPA, DNR and all other agencies are site. Every one will have their say how this should be done. :P

Did you see it lift the stern up by the transom? I don't think those fenders did much good on that move. I wonder how much damage that boat sustained from pushing it and if the tide was going to rise any higher.

One thing for sure, that operator knew what he was doing. When he started coming under the stern on either side of the rudder to scoop out the sand without hitting the hull, I was impressed.

Before the crane came into the picture, I thought the backhoe was going to dig a river from the boat to the water. With the sand and surf, I just couldn't see that working. Then I was thinking they were going to leapfrog the boat and crane so they could place the boat in deeper water.

I'm guessing they hobbled to a marina and had her hauled and inspected.

What do you think? Swan 49?
