Re: Low Cost Liveaboard lifestyle

Its interesting that people would find that lifestyle so strange or "poor" as to infer that it is illegal or be freaked out by it. I'm guessing most have never been to Nairobi or Calcutta - he's living in the lap of luxury in comparison!

Re: Low Cost Liveaboard lifestyle

Most people in Western society simply cannot grasp the difference between material and spiritual happiness. I am 40 years old, and I am discovering the difference.

I'd be interested to see where he has visited and just how mobile the small barge is. Pull a Huckle Berry Finn and float around the Great loop?

That's what I was thinking when I first read about this, my thought was, why is this news ? I mean I think its great and all, but it is a little bit frustrating that the only reason it is news is because it is happening right outside the window of the major news organizations. Sometimes it seems like nothing happens in this world unless somebody in Boston, L.A., or Atlanta knows about it. They should visit Appalachia sometime if they think living in a canoe is national news.

It's obvious why it is news to us, we aspire to it!
