Question new sails

anyone have any good web sites I can go to to look for new sails at a (reasonable price) for my Hunter. Thanks

I had great luck with FX sails. I have purchased for three boats and they all have held up well. Very knowledgeable staff and when they arrive you get a bag and all the accessories. I recommend them highly. Sails, Sailboat Sails, Custom Sails, Instant Online Sail Prices at FX Sails

Quantum.

Take some time and let one of the larger sail makers educate you on the different sail cloth materials. Most likely you are looking for a tradition dacron cruising sail not laminated. There are advantages to many different materials and sail life expectancy too.

Makes sure you compare like materials for like materials, and also dont discount the customer service aspect as its hard to deal with mail order mistakes

Most reputable sailmakers/ lofts will come to your boat at least twice, once to measure and once to fit the finished sail

Feel free to bring back questions here as most of us have dealt with this more than a few times before

Bacon's did not measure our boat nor offer to do so. Genoa shape wasn't very good. Sails are made offshore. EXCELLENT customer service, some of the best that I've seen.

Evolution builds their sails in Easton, MD. Great shape. Busy loft. Nice people. Competitive price.

Bacon's made a new main sail at a third of the cost. I try to give back to local companies but $1,000.00 is hard to justify.

Bacons people are excellent customer servive.

Sails always look great ( if properly measured) when they are new or newer. The difference starts showing up in year 4 or 5. Thats why reputation is important and I assume why you have asked here.

Just remember you get what you pay for. A savings in the beginning may not be a savings in the long haul.
