Re: To all my Northern Sailing Friends...

You guys make me feel like I'm missing out on all the seasonal fun or endless summer while living in Southern California. Smack in the middle of your two extremes. Just sorta cold in the winter - not really, and rains - not that much, I can drive to snow - its not the same, I can surf decent waves though - 72 hours after the pollution run-off spreads out enough :/

To each their own. We adapt or we move.

Happy Holidays wherever you're comfortable spending them!

Re: To all my Northern Sailing Friends...

Some of us in the Chessie are hardcore, I was out a few days ago. But now I'm slinking off to the Caribbean for a few days to remind myself what sunshine looks like. Too bad my boat is a trailer sailor and not carry-on!

Re: To all my Northern Sailing Friends...

Not all us Northern folk have a sailing problem in winter. As you swelter in the Florida uv and listen to the constant hum of an AC or two, we here in Canada sit by a cozy heating source (wood, oil electric etc.) darning our woolies or mending our snowshoes.

Some snowmobile, some ski, some skate and some of us do this

stick that in your AC... oh and thanks for your thoughts

Regardless where you sail, just remember, "Sailing is not a matter of life or death, it's much more important than that."

Re: To all my Northern Sailing Friends...

to everything there is season. New England coastal sailing is a joy. You go places that look different from one another. The places have have a history and culture. you talk to average people who actually have a brain between their ears. The sea life and wild life changes with locale and season. And if you don't like the weather just wait a minute it will change. Still all in all can't wait to become retarded and a snowbird but can think of a lot better places to be than with florida q tips. lol

Re: To all my Northern Sailing Friends...

If I did not have xmas lights, with two very suspect crew trying to sail my boat.....It would have been a PHUN day on the water with 20 knot winds today. May have been able to have BFS!...

Will not be in portland to make sure this person gets arrested for some funy whacked out reason. We do that up here in the NW at times. Oh well, life does go on.

BUT< can brian go sailing during the day, snow ski at night? play golf the next day, go skiing again that night, maybe some kite sailing added to the list.......did not think so!LOLOL
