Took my Dad out for a sail today, grey skies but a nice breeze kept us sailing at 6+ knots pretty much all day. Hove to just out of Hughes Passage at the south end of Sidney Island and had lunch while a small pod of orca came past. First time I've actually got to see them from Tangerine in nearly 3 years of sailing around here.
We were pretty much the only vessel on the water, and got back into the slip just as it got dark. Perfect.
Don't understand why people up in this part of the world pull their boats over winter, it's some of the best sailing
