for us old blokes technology is an amazing thing

snaps taken five minutes ago arriving in Australia

so here I am at anchor behind whitton Island on the Humber

I started on a typewriter and telephone

shouting stuff down the phone to copytakers

moving pictures was really expensive

ordinary boat, ordinary computer, ordinary bloke

I guess by the end of this jaunt it would be possible to set up a live web cam

and we have even more useful stuff such as GPS
