Stephen Colbert races out of Chrleston. Errol Flynn had a schooner named Zaca. Look it up. It's pretty nice.

The novelist Stuart Woods was in that tragic 1979 Fastnet race and sailed and raced a few prior to that.

Re: Celebrity Sailors Past/Current?

I'm surprised nobody mentioned Jimmy Buffett yet. He's owned the following:

Cheoy Lee 33 ketch named "Euphoria"
Cheoy Lee 40 clipper ketch named "Euphoria II"
Herreshoff Alerion 26 named "Savannah Jane"
Hinckley DS42 named "Chill" (I think I've seen this boat on the Great Lakes)
Joubert designed Tofinou 9.5 named "Groovy"

Gordan Lightfoot
One of his sailboats, older Ericson 39 named Sundown, is located in the Marina where we keep our sailboat, Port Kinsale, Va. Has a red stripe vertical up the mast.
