I may be relocating there from Portland Oregon. I`ll be sailing my boat down and I`m in search for a nice marina at a good price for live aboard. I need a slip for a 60 footer. Does anyone have any words of wisdom?

Good luck. My guess is a 60'' liveaboard slip will be very hard to come by.

You might give Chula Vista Marina a try.

Definitely check Chula Vista, they advertise that space is available. Waiting list for slips > 50'' is 9 years in some marinas in So. Cal., Good Luck ! Also check The Log (www.thelog.com) it''s local sailing free paper in So. Cal. check advertisers for marinas. Welcome to Calif., if you can find a place for your boat you can sail all year round. The next 2 harbors north of SD are Oceanside and Dana Point, both rather small.
