"Hey, East Coast Hawkeye got a boat!"...
I've looked at a few sailboats and wasn't sure what I wanted, but found (what I believe is) a great "First Sailboat" .. She's a 1980 AMF 2100 (Alcort) that has been neglected and needs a lot of TLC. The hull is sound, and from what I can assess, only one turnbuckle is missing from the rigging. The cabin cap has 'a few' holes in it, and several cracks. But, in the 2 years she's been outside and uncovered, there was NO WATER in the cabin! She comes with a "trailer" ( questionable because it looks like it's about to fall apart!), but I'm a (metal) fabricator/installer so, I'm not worried about that. I AM missing the rudder/tiller and though I can make one, I have no clue as to size, length, shape, or design. (Any HELP please??)
If anyone owns a 2100 Alcort, please comment, suggest, inform...........warn me?
