What kind of paint for my boat? Motor mount

Bought a 1975 McVay minuet 19'
Lets just say Ive had phone bills which cost more than the price of the boat

Came with:
-yard trailer
-1 good main
-1 110% jib
-Assymetrical spinnaker

The boat was built for the president of the company (George McVay?) and has quite a background to it, as it was built for McVay he had custom parts added to it that no other Minuet had at the time
upgraded winches, nice harken traveler, roller furling boom, extra teak trim along the cockpit coamings, etc..

No this thread is not about me bragging, haha

What type of paint should be used for the hull? Looking for something cheap & durable. Obviously not looking for awlgrip, or to have it proffesionally sprayed (will be rolling and tipping)

I intend to use Interlux brightsides off white for the deck and stripes

It will be Navy Blue

My other question is, where could I find a mount for a small outboard (Johnson 4hp 2 stroke) that could be removable while under sail, or better yet have one fabricated? Any other ideas?

Brightside for the hull will be fine. You'll need to roll a "freshen up" coat on each season (or two). It'll look great if done right, but it will scratch easily (but can easily be touched up).

Nice hull shape btw!

You can use the garelick ob mount, it works well on a small ob (just remove two of the heavy springs and fab up a new pad to fit the smaller ob).

If you're looking for that nice dark blue, the Flag Blue is darker and nicer looking than the other Interlux blues.

Nice boat! Love to see pictures as you go! The trailer has such charm, did you get both spare tires?....Dale

I don't see a Gaerlick mount working on that small of a transom. I would think something removable like a canoe type mount that sets the motor off to the side would work.

OP/B mount?!
I'd think ya could get by w/oarlocks and some nice sweeps!

It'd "fit" much better.

Probably right. It does look small.

MAybe I am thinking a bit to far outside the box but I would adapt the drive part of a trolling motor and run that in a orrifice between keel and rudder and that way not spoil the lines of the boat at all and I guess that it would be used just to get in and out of the harbour anyway so would not need that much running time.
