WTB Trailer for 22' fixed keel sailboat

Hello, I just bought my first sailboat, a 22' fixed keel columbia. Now I need a trailer to get her home from California to British Columbia. Not sure what kind of trailer I will need so any help, suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank-You in advance.

Ty for the response, but I'm having enough trouble with one boat minus a trailer as it is. I'll keep looking at least until I have to leave for my 22 hr drive to pick her up. Worst case scenario I will have to take my life in my hands and sail her up at least to Vancouver and collect my vehicle later. Oh what an adventure :)

Triad builds custom trailers. I believe this will be fairly expense.
You might want to contact a shipping company to move the boat just one time.
The custom trailer does give you more options, but again, I believe it will be very pricey.

If you have a cradle for your boat, it can be lifted onto a car hauler. If you are handy, a cradle can be built on a car hauler using 4X4s and lots of cross bracing. This would safely get you home. If you are looking to trailer the boat often, pick up a dual axle power boat trailer and weld on the keel support and side stands I picked up a trailer for $900.

Once again TY for the help! That is exactly the price I got quoted for a new one. The more I think about it I might have to sell her or redonate her back to boat angels :( ?
Might be for the best not much wind here and she is known to like the wind 4-6 knots.

Re: WTB Trailer for 22' fixed keel sailboat

What's the weight of the boat? My 22' only weighs 2300 pounds, and trailers perfectly on a single axle boat trailer rated for 3500#. You may not need a dual axle trailer. Have you looked into borrowing or renting a trailer for the trip? I believe that some marinas/boat dealers will rent trailers.

Here's my Starwind 22 on its single axle trailer, the bunks supports are simple "C" channel bolted to the frame. You could use rectangular tube or C channel to build your own if needed. The second photo shows the bunk supports while I was replacing the rotted bunk boards. It's not very complicated at all. Remember that the bunks don't hold much of the weight of the boat, the majority of the weight rides on the keel support. The bunks typically just provide stability on the trailer.
