Looking for good insurance

I seem to be in the market for boat insurance in the next couple of months. Anyone have suggestions of who they are with, most importantly, how did they treat you when you had a claim?

Thanks!

We''ve been using National Marine Underwriters out of Annapolis. Their cost and coverage has been reasonable for our ''81 J/boat. We had a hefty claim last season (someone else barging at the start) and they were efficient and matter-of-fact in how they handled it. Our rates have increased this season, but not exorbitantly. Worth giving them a call.

We have been very satisfied with the service from International Marine Insurance Services (IMIS) out of Grasonville, MD (410-827-3757).

Have not yet made a claim, (thankfully) but went with Boat US.

In talking with others who had, they seem to
be reasonable, but the two biggest reasons were the coverage (entire east coast) and the price. I Understand that others might only have covered me as far as the inlet.

Went with BoatUS after prior ins. company jacked my rate up which ended up being more then my home owners ins.
Their rates vary depending on sailing area and they offer riders if going out of the designated sailing area.
Good Luck

Ray
