As said before; Either a remake of the movie 'African Queen' or he is going to do some whales up the ole wahoo.... I shudder at the thought of the latter part.

Re: very strange yacht protuberance

Looks like a redneck had a rabbit brained idea to me. Rabbits are much smaller, stupider and generally less well regarded than hares.

But then, what do I know! I might have tried it myself if I had a steel hulled boat, an off spec or condemned gas bottle lying about and the thought hit me just so...

Dylan.... any chance you can get an answer from the boat owner? Just amazing the things people do to improve their boats.

Me too!! Any idea when General Ironsides yacht club will be having it's Spring Regatta this year ? Looks like this might be the year she hits the water !
I wouldn't engage the owner in a conversation about yacht design unless I had a lot of spare time on my hands.

It is for picking up clandestine packages that are fastened to floating lines? The way pirates in junks used to use the bow bulges on tankers to get picked up by the lines they stretched between them. DON'T ASK! (Not me, THEM!)

Or a preemptive lobster pot defender. Get them by the bow before they can foul the rudder or the prop. Off center made attachment easier in the narrow bow.

Re: very strange yacht protuberance

I hope the tank is empty! It looks like that anchor would whack the valve right off of it. And you know what happens then:

I did not take the snaps but the bloke who did says that he is going to find out more

I assume it is nonsense - but great fun for all that

Re: very strange yacht protuberance

It reminded me of that last frame in the movie "Jaws" when the shark had the cylinder in its mouth and sheriff took aim with the rifle. What was that cylinder filled with to cause it to explode??

Re: very strange yacht protuberance

You're all wrong: the tank is obviously repurposed as a cap for the torpedo tube.
