YOU'RE NOT NUTS!
Its just wild anticipation. When I was looking to buy a new truck, I noticed every truck on the highway. If I wanted a dodge ram, then I noticed every ram truck that went by. If you need a new entertainment center for the big screen TV, then the newspaper ads from the furniture stores catch your eye. Sailing is in the forefront of your mind, hence the preoccupation with the wind strength and direction.
( Now take 2 Heineken by mouth and send me a check for $50 in the morning.)

I tried that explanation to my first wife when I saw a great pair walk by.

It worked.

I am now on my second wife.

You are all right! No reason to see the doctor.

my phases are a little more severe

Dog walking lead me to a love of HiCRI flashlights. Nice color rendering of brown
Flying planes lead me to doing a pre-check of my car...nails in tires...etc
sail boats...grew up on a livery....sailed EVERY day growing up....rent...charter...boat club...and then...check out the picture...bought.

You might as well going out to buy your inflatable lifejacket, sailing gloves and Maui Jims,

you are "caught between phillips and straight"

Get your wife involved! Think of the eye rolling from your kids as the two of you prance around the house modeling your new inflatable life jackets and practice MOB procedures off the couch.

Thanks bljones, I will take you up on that. I forget which kids have passports and which don't so it may not be the whole band. If you ever find yourself in the Port of Rochester, you have a host awaiting you as well!

Hey GD,
Where in Rochester? I am RIT Grad, lived in the Roc for many years.

LOL Donna. I love making my kids eyes roll! I'm thankful the wife is letting out some of my main sheet so I can pursue this, she's heard me talk about sailing for a few years now. She's supporting my next step to actually sail this year and a longer term goal of a pocket cruiser in 2014. I can only imagine what she and the kids will have to put up with once I've been out on the water. I have a very loving family though, I can't wait to get them out on the water as well and more family memories. Last night I bought 2 charts of my surrounding waters, I sat at the kitchen table for hours pouring over the data and answering questions from the kids. Just one more step to stepping on that boat!

Greece, NY, minutes away from the Port Of Rochester. My stepson is awaiting his acceptance into RIT, we're keeping our fingers crossed! If you're going out this season, I'd love to crew for you and learn as much as I can. My email is gdsimmons@yahoo.com.

Re: "Sure I'll walk the dog, honey!"

If I happen to be on Lake Ontario this summer I will let you know. Currently I am on one of the Fingerlakes and its a landlocked one, Owasco Lake. My schedule these days doesn't allow for much sailing trips beyond the afternoon day sail.

Hopefully my situation improves so I can launch my boat on Ontario again.

Brad
