Thumbs up Met Captain Aaron today...

I had the good fortune to meet Captain Aaron today. He a super nice guy, very knowledgeable, and hopefully, we'll meet again on Friday. I discovered that both he and his wife are musicians as well, which means that we have even more in common than I thought. I would have posted this earlier in the day, but I just got back from performing music for about 75 to 100 people at the Sombrero Resort in Marathon Key, Florida this evening. It was another fun night in paradise.

Cheers,

Gary

Re: Met Captain Aaron today...

Are you sure it did not take you too long to get home/back to the boat because Aaron put a really BIG anchor chain combo on your ankle!

Sorry, could not resist!

At the last Sailnet Rendezvous I was the band. Hopefully, this year's rendezvous will have some additional players so we can have a great Jam Session.

Re: Met Captain Aaron today...

I always enjoy Capt's posts. There are three ways one learns things, you read about it, someone else told you about it, or you have done it yourself. Sounds like Capt has "been there and done that" a whole lot.

Well I HAD THE HONOR OF MEETING GARY, He is the real deal man. The world would run a lot smoother if there were more guy's like Gary in it. For people like me who plan to live life to the fullest for as long as possible, Gary is an inspiration. He even let me board his boat with my tug boat boot's on. "The boat doesn't care so why should I?". he says. Any way's, short and neat, had a couple of beers. shot the sh!t and helped him lug his one man band gear to the bar. I just wanna say, not only was he in the NAVY, but as a diver. Like back when they wore the dang helmet and boots and walked around cutting things with gas torches. He's had more deep blue water pass under his keel than me and my whole family, and he was under that water a lot too! Neat guy. It's funny, I called him and he was like " Ya what do want, I already hired some one else!" It scared me, so I SAID " No Gary, it's that Aaron dude from the internet sailing thing. " Oh sh!t I thought you were some one else, come on by." Any way's it was fun. I don't think I'll make it up to Marathon on Friday but I'll try to get back up there before he sails back up north.

Re: Met Captain Aaron today...

Wow, I am so impressed. These are the two guys that I recently listed as the ones I would most like to meet from Sailnet, and here they are in my favorite place in the world. Wish we could meet at Captain Tony's Saloon in Key West and raise a few together.
