Have you seen

Boat Balls 2 - YouTube

Not easy with 65ft air draft, but this guy did with a much bigger stick. Heeling helps a bit with the draft issue -- although 7 ft is possible if you don't mind getting stuck in the mud every now and then.

Hmmm, who HASN'T seen that one by now, it must have been posted on every sailing forum half a dozen times, already... (grin)

I can see trying something like that to avoid going out around Hatteras, perhaps, as there are fewer than 10 fixed bridges between Norfolk and Morehead... (pretty sure that one was shot going thru the Coinjock bridge). I believe the owner also employed that method to attend an SSCA gam in Melbourne or Vero Beach, coming up from Fort Pierce... But, to do lengthy stretches of the ICW by pulling such a stunt, I imagine that would get very old, very quickly...

Hell, if horizontal bridge clearance wasn't an issue, you could probably take a Super Maxi down the ICW... (grin)
