I think I would too, LOL! Tis better than getting 'stung'. I'm going to have to try these things soon, so I'll post what worked best. Again, thank U all! Dave.

Easy, use your boat often. Dirt Dobbers wont use boats that are used often. They prefer boats that sit.
My boat was infested during restoration work. Once I moved aboard however I have had not one instance.

Re: Wasp, Dirt Dobbers?

In my new marina i have a HUGE spider problem (not to mention the HUGE barn swallow problem). I got tired of dealing with all the spiders and everything that comes with them. On top of this my daughter has a high sensitivity to spider bites. (Blows right up)
While not totally acceptable around here. I spray the perimeter of my boat twice a year with Ortho Home defense. I pay close attention to all the nooks and crannies that little critters like to hide.
After the boat is washed and waxed in the spring. She gets a good spray before she goes in.
I guarantee this will work! No if ands or buts. The people with the pretty powerboats taught me this. Ortho Home Defense MAX Perimeter & Indoor Insect Killer

So do all living things because they combine to make chloramine vapor, which is extremely TOXIC. Please don't mix these two and hang around.

Re: Wasp, Dirt Dobbers?

Sorry, I have to remain skeptical about any safe mixture of chlorine and ammonia, until I see an example.

Re: Wasp, Dirt Dobbers?

well I stand corrected, I thought as I was writing the original statement about our accident in the Army which was very bad. Thinking nope bad stuff but they sell it on the shelf.

NOPE they don't. you can get bleach or ammonia but not both. I apologize for the confusion
