So according to Van Sant's book Sapodillia Bay has fuel. Also he states Rum Cay as having fuel.

Turks & Caicos now have 'quite high' entry fees similar to the Bahamas.
You better check with 'noonsite' or SSCA forum, etc. before you inadvertently chance spending more in fees than for fuel.
http://www.noonsite.com/Countries/Tu...rc=Formalities .... fees may be now higher than whats posted in that URL.

Lots of uncharted coral heads direct south of Sapodilla Bay ... friend of mine recently ripped off a rudder there ... had to pay the entry fees again to reenter, .... while 'slowly sinking'.

I've never been to Grand Turk by boat or otherwise. I have been to Providenciales (Provo) by boat and plane. Provo is where Sapodilla Bay is and there is a full service marina accessed from the north side of Provo. You will need to have them guide you through the cut in the reef and around the coral heads though.

The Caicos Bank is fairly shallow. When I arrived at Provo from Tortola we sailed all the way around the Bank to avoid the shallow water and coral heads. Keep your eyes open for commercial traffic around Mona Passage, south of the T&C. Also watch for evidence of Gulf Stream eddies. You will find some current out there.

Grand Turk was very built up. I could see it as we sailed by, high rises sticking up over the ocean. I'm not sure who goes there. Probably the rich and famous.

Wow, a minimum of $200 to visit. That'll sure keep the riffraff out.

Here's the listing of fees from 'Noonsite' website:

gonna cost you $200 to 'stop in and buy fuel' in the TCI

Fees
Overtime fees are no longer charged outside of working hours.
Up to 7 day visit: US$100 (including stopping for fuel)
Cruising Permit (90 days): US$300
Inward clearance: US$50
Outward clearance: US$50 - zarpe
Last updated June 2012.

Probably too many highrises and resorts now in the TCI and they apparently want to keep out the riff-raff.

Good stuff. Thanks. We try to stay away there then. :)
