Just sitting on the back of the boat

Just having a drink and the camera at my side watching the birds in the marina.

Re: Just sitting on the back of the boat

Ah, a Bluebill, used to hunt them in the northern part of San Francisco Bay. Sometimes they could be a bit on the fishy side. Anyway, thanks for the pictures.

Is there another scavenger as beautiful as Gulls?

Re: Just sitting on the back of the boat

annoying and tenacious (if you ever tried to eat food on the beach of boardwalk, you will know) as gulls are.. they are a pretty bird.

I miss the mallards. Up until the Fox returned to Ocean City, the Mallards would form huge flocks. Every morning they would make the rounds of the Marina and then start hitting up the homes on land nearby looking for handouts.

Most of them were so tame you could hand feed them. I can't tell you how many ducklings I took home as a kid and raised before putting them back to continue on with the flock

Very nice shots - what lens and settings did you use?

Re: Just sitting on the back of the boat

Very nice and crisp, I can't get that with my lens, but I don't have a telephoto, just a Nikkor that goes to 200; I should get at least one lens that's longer but am saving up for a fisheye, which is surprisingly expensive consider how small the darned thing is.
