Re: Sailing Weather?

We had a great sail last weekend, sunshine, about 8degC, not quite Tshirt weather but a nice following NW breeze.

We're off across the Strait this Easter weekend coming up... temps into the double digits and sunshine is forecast, so looking forward to that...

Re: Sailing Weather?

I guess it depends on your definition of good sailing weather.
I've been sailing all winter, from 5kt days in bright sunshine and temperatures around 0c, to grey stormy skies, lashing rain and wind gusting up towards the high 20kts. Any day I can go sailing is good sailing weather for me

Re: Sailing Weather?

Define great weather. We sailed last sunday. The winds were mild. We topped out at 4.5 knots. It was sunny but cold and hazy, about 60 degrees and 4 miles visibility. No it was not great. It was ok.

I sail in So. Calif.

One of my friends on Saturday said, "My friends from New York are going to be so jealous, they're shoveling snow and we're in swimsuits in March"

Can't complain about Los Angeles. 72 and Sunny, 12-15 knot winds.

Re: Sailing Weather?

There is still ice on Lake Erie but the Ice boom is in the process of being removed. Went down to the marina and gave them the arm and leg they require for the privilege of parking next to their floating junk. Before I Know it, I will have forgotten the snow that is falling today in Buffalo, N.Y. Sun on the back of my neck and wind in my face.

Re: Sailing Weather?

Not sailing weather here yet, got another 6" of snow last week. I am thinking about removing the keel and installing skis
