Great Writeup on Bounty

Here is one of the better pieces of online journalism I have seen in a while...

Life and Death on the Bounty

A good read.

Re: Great Writeup on Bounty

Yeah, it is good journalism. I read it on line on CNN. We have covered all the same ground, and more, here. But this article is a good read for a non-sailing readership, with educational photos and diagrams.

Still makes one sad, though, as it should. Or angry. Or incredulous. Or respectful of the power of the sea, never to be underestimated.

Thanks CD, that was indeed a good read. Surprisingly so given it was on a news channel and wasn't over sensationalising everything.

I have been told the USCG has released their official report but haven't seen it yet. Any links?

Dave,

I thought I read their official report would not be concluded until the end of this year? I could be wrong.

Re: Great Writeup on Bounty

USCG report by the end of the year.

I hope they use the next few months to delve into stuff that couldn't be grout up in the hearings.

It could really sort out the 12 passenger rules....
