1987 Freedom 30 Survey

I will be having a 1987 Freedom 30 surveyed next week that I have had my offer on accepted. Does anyone have any suggestions and/or recommendations as to items or issues that I should bring to the surveyors attention. Thanks

Unless you know something about this particular boat it is the surveyor's job to bring things to you attention. Try to be there when the survey is done so he can point things out to you - better than just the written report.

tommays will become famous soon enough
Re: 1987 Freedom 30 Survey

Because of the free standing mast which places ALL its loads into the deck VS chain plates on a standard mast any issues with wet core on the deck will be of much bigger concern

If a dirty bottom slows you down what do you think it does to your boat

A strong second on KS's suggestion that you be there throughout the survey. You'll pick up a lot more info than just from reading the report.

Best of luck, those are nice, interesting boats.
