Just bought a boat.

I am now the proud owner of a 1965 Sea Sprite 23. I placed a deposit tonight and will be going up to NY in two weeks to retrieve it.

Now to start planning on what to do with it

Congrats!

May I suggest that you put it in water? - Keel side down.

Just bought a boat.

Congrats! I suggest turning it into a nice planter, or maybe a playground for your kids/local children.

That's great. Congrats.

Re: Just bought a boat.

She is on a trailer in WestPort NY. So I am looking at 400 miles of trailering. This should be fun I love a good road trip.

Looks like I will be taking the train from AC to Philly and then from Philly to NYC, and then NYC to Westport. The Uhaul is across the street from the station in Westport and from there it is a long drive back down to NJ.

I will someday buy a pickup

Re: Just bought a boat.

Westport, as in Lake Champlain? Long drive, but it will be worth it with your new boat in tow.

Renting a one way uhaul truck with a hitch or rental car adding a temporary hitch? Wish I could think of a better way. Can't borrow something and drive up for it?
