VHF Station License

My 10-years are nearly up and I must renew the VHF Station License to take the boat out of the USA. Does anyone know how much it costs? The VHF is not a requirement on my boat. Research on the FCC web page led me into a bureaucratic run around that was absolutely worthless.

I am having the same problem...notification of renewal that I received gave me no amount due, but routed me to the web site also.

I hope someone can help us ''cause like you I felt like I was caught in a run around.

weather or not you need it, you might as well fill out the forms and send them in. no harm. i don''t remember it being expensive, if any cost?

In my experience crusing the carribean, other than the bahamas, i wasn''t asked for my station license once. and i think the bohemians were suprised when i produced it.

Sifting through the site, I found the 2003 schedule (seems they have little, if any, 2004 information available).

The link below is for form 1070, which seems to have what is applicable to recreational boaters on page 6 (Part 80).

If I''m reading this correctly, both New applications and Renewals cost $200.

Since it''s no longer required in domestic waters, I won''t be applying for one at that price.
