Interesting possibility for using real glass in place of plexi?

Ace Security Laminates - Protecting People and Property

Maybe especially for those with pilothouses with big windows?

It's not resistant to small arms fire when used on less than 1/2 glass, so this can't become an anchor thread...

But for everything else it seems interesting. Someone mentioned using it for burglar proofing their vehicle, but it seems to me that the same properties would be desirable on a boat where something might smash into a window by accident.

I talked to the sales manager for Discovery yachts about the large windows they use. He said they are laminated glass and much stronger than the rest of the boat.

Finishing our major refit. Our trip to Newfoundland is off because it is too late. Hoping to go to the North Channel instead.

Can the glass flex enough to follow the slight camber of the cabin sides? I'd love to replace my plexiglass deadlights with the stuff.

i don't believe this is a glass product for the end user but a plastic laminate that would be used in manufacture of glass panels like safety glass

From the website "When applied to existing glass, the laminate forms a bond that acts as a transparent barrier."
