Dog ladders ramps...best for sailboat?

My golden-doodle is spring loaded and can actually leap from my dinghy to the boat on a bound. But...it's an accident waiting to happen. I fear he may eventually get injured. I checked on many of the ramps and ladders that are out there but most seem to be for motor boats where the angle and height aren't too bad. My boat [Morgan OutIsland] is at least a 3 or 4 foot leap to the gunnel. I would love to hear from and see pictures of what some of you have found to work. [if it even will?]

My formula for living is quite simple. I get up in the morning and I go to bed at night. In between, I occupy myself as best I can.

Our dock bought one of these for common use and it's an easy 3' drop from dock to water. Dogs seem to have no trouble using it. Does have a weight limit of 130 lbs but would seem to work for most dogs.

A piece of plywod about 1 1/2 ft wide by 8ft long with carpet on it works well. You rig it parallel with the topsides.

the Paws Aboard one has to fix to a ladder and I thought it seemed cumbersome and surprisingly heavy (and it's expensive!). We just ordered a Petstep II from West Marine, it should be much more useful as it can go from boat to dock, boat to dingy and also should be long enough to help the pup get from cockpit to cabin, it's almost 6ft long unfolded. It's also half the price of the Paws Aboard. I'll let you know my impressions when it arrives (should be the end of the week, although I won't get a chance to actually try it on the boat).

Re: Dog ladders ramps...best for sailboat?

Solved the dog boarding issue by getting a boat with a swim platform and transom door. Now if I could only get her to pee on the swim platform.
