Rudder Repair - 1978 30' Hunter

I'm in need of some repair to my rudder. There seems to be some up and down slack and fresh shiny metal exposed.

What do I need to do to fix this up?

Thanks in advance

With a skeg hung rudder like that it should only be able to drop if there's an issue with the lower connection at the bottom of the skeg.. any close up pictures of that area?

Tiller or wheel??

It's a wheel, i'm going to head inside tomorrow afternoon and have a peek around and let you know.

Is there any schematics for these systems?

The rudder does not look all that bad

The strut which is supporting the prop-shaft looks in pretty horrible condition ?

What's going on with the skeg to hull joint? Why is that line there? Is it a stress fracture?

It appears to be a mold line. No it's fully stable from what I can see. we examined it, cleaned and filled the line.

The strut was just totally cleaned from it's prior salt water life. I'm just replacing anode's right now on it.
