When is enough, enough?

This Grampian 26 has been sitting in a boatyard for the past 6 years. My friend encouraged me to take it off his hands so he can stop paying rent on it being there. Even if it was free, I might have overpaid. I post these pics as eventually I will need some guidance and advice. I am not a boatbuilder but I have built furniture using cherry and oak. I think I can do this. Plus, I live on the coast of Maine, I am obligated to find a way to get on the water without having to ask a friend to take me out.
Removing all the moldy cushions, and other debris that has been gathering mold and disintegrating, pumping out the water that was almost over the floorboard, its is now ready to be washed down with bleach water and other mildew and mold removal tactics. I have to remind myself to Keep It Simple, Stupid, dont over commit. Categorize projects into safety related and aesthetic related. Essential or optional.
Site would not let me post pics. I will look into it and post. Its a big project to reclaim this boat but I think its worth the effort.
Cheers!

You're into a major project, but you do have the bones of a good boat. I used to own a Grampian 34. Grampians were built solid and simple.

Assuming the hull is intact, and the deck is in decent shape, you've probably got yourself a good foundation. It does sound like you've got a lot of work ahead of you though. Take it slow. Ask for help from fellow boaters. People love to see a good old boat come back to life.

Go through the boat and do your own personal survey. Then let the people here know what your up against. You will get lots of advice good, bad, and WTF, but we will have a lot of fun "helping" you.

Ditto what Dessert said; give us some insight into what you're dealing with.
