Re: Did someone say flipper?

I think they meant to say that Bud and Exotic were trapped on a sand bar in their skiff and they required help, that's it.

I'm pretty sure that's an old sailor myth that dolphins at your bow was thought to be a good omen..

.... What? I know, that is why I said it's a good omen. Omen probably isn't the best word as omens are usually meant to be bad. Think of it instead as good luck or good fortune..

Re: Did someone say flipper?

Cool video. That's one of the nicer things about sailing in the Gulf of Mexico. I don't know that I have ever been sailing here, and not had dolphins come swim along beside us, often several times on one trip.

We once had several dozen come up near us and start mating, but in all my years, I only saw that happen one time. I looked over and told my wife, "Why are the dolphins fighting?" And, then it hit me what they were doing.

On the northern Gulf of Mexico.

That is awesome - gave me shivers. I would love to see that! I suppose the more time I spend on the water, the higher my chances are. One thing's for sure - it won't happen in my lounge room!
