Great Britian or Bust

I am planning a Atlantic crossing in July 2012 and would like some input on routing. I would like to stay below lat 50 when possible but don’t want the extra distance to Bermuda and Azores. Is there any reason not to leave New Jersey on a course of about 77 deg true and head straight to the UK?

Yup it is called the Azores high.

Do you know about Herb AKA Southbound 2 see South Bound II VAX498 - Ship routing and weather forecasting

He will provide advice specific to your boat/location and destination.

He is the MAN on crossing the Atlantic by sailboat.
