Port Charlotte to Louisiana

We plan to sail from the weat coast of Florida to New Orlean and back, fron the 21st of Feb. To the end of March.

Are tornadoes a problem at that time of the year ?

We have the charts, both paper and on chartlotter and a cruising guide. We sail a Corbin 39.

All suggestions and advices are welcome.

For New Orleans you will have to come through Lake bourgne into Lake Ponchatrain for NOLA
I'm moored at South Shore Harbor Marina next to Lakeside Airport. A few guest slips there @ $1.95 per foot. You also have Orleans Marina about 3.5 miles further north but SSHM & OM are municipal marinas There may be others... Note if you are leasing the prices are really so much better.... About $200 a month for my hardin45
