Gulfstar 43 NOT the motorsailer

Interested in a Gulfstar 43 Auxilliary Ketch, as seen in this drawing...

Unfortunately, the photo is too grainy to make out the specifications of the boat, and everywhere I search on the internet people seem to confuse this boat with the 43' Motorsailor that Gulfstar also made, but which was a completely different boat.

Does anyone have a better quality copy of this picture? Or have the specifications for this boat?

Thanks!

No data, but my slip neighbor has one of them and he's decided to sell it. It's in very good condition. Let me know if you're interested and I can pass along contact info.

Already did. They are just as confused between this boat and the motorsailor as anyone else.

Re: Gulfstar 43 NOT the motorsailer

If you are looking for data and other information, try the Gulfstar Owners Association group on Facebook. It's a very active group of owners.

A random boat listing of a 43 AUX at yachtworld.com list these specs:

Code:
LOA: 42 ft 7 in
Beam: 11 ft 10 in
LWL: 33 ft 0 in
Maximum Draft: 5 ft 3 in
Displacement: 23000 lbs Half Load
Ballast: 8000 lbs
Headroom: 6 ft 8 in
Hope this helps and kind regards,

Sebastian

Re: Gulfstar 43 NOT the motorsailer

The problem with specs from a yachtworld listing is that they are very often quite completely wrong. They are just whatever the owner or broker happened to dig up. Maybe right. Maybe not.

The picture above is actually from the Gulfstar Owners Assoc. website. That is the only specific information that they have, that I could find, about the 43 Auxilliary. As you can see, you cannot make out the specifications.

I did not know that there was a Gulfstar Owners Facebook page. I will check there. Thank you for that.

Denver. I just saw this post. Don't know if you found out anything since you posted last here but,,,, I looked pretty close at this. I've been looking at a ton of boats lately because I'm looking to buying a few months and become a live-aboard again. I recognize a lot of the numbers here just from a general idea of what it would make since that they read and I'd say you can almost bet it reads the following;

LOA. 42 ft 1 in
LWL. 33 ft 9 in
BEAM. 11 ft 10 in
DRAFT. 5 feet
DISP. 23k
BALLAST. 8K

.... I can't help you out on the sails data cause I'm a newbee to that .....

WATER = 115 GALS.
FUEL = 65 GALS.
