Hunter 260 - Looking for differences & buy

I'm looking for a trailerable boat & the Hunter 260 water ballast is number one on the list. Now just to find one preferably in the west or central states,as I'm in south California in the winter. I understand they stopped production in 2006 and go back to mid 90's I think. What I'd also like to know is there many or any changes made to the newer model years from say a 1998 to the 2004 to help decide. Thanks.

H26/260 Differences

H26/H260 series evolved over time. The H26 was built from 1994 to 1998. The H260 was manufactured from 1998-2005. It is believed there was some overlap between the production of the two models. Some changes were stylistic, others like the rudder were functional. Overtime, Hunter made changes to the boat based on users desires and complaints.

Apparently the hull numbers for the 26 start at FOOO1 and run to somewhere near F0729 around 1997-98 then the 260 is introduced and the hull numbers continue until 2002 were they start new (maybe Hunter started a whole new mold instead of using the one that was modified from the 26 and run to somewhere near F0189 in 2005).

I have a webpage on this subject but sailnet won't let me post the URL. Do a google on Comparison of H26 vs. H260 that will take you to the page.

sailingfool will become famous soon enough
Just a thought...you might consider a boat like the S2 7.9 http://www.sailingsource.com/s279/. Basically I think you'd be buying twice the boat for half the money, sort of hard to lose.
