Well, my broker that has been working with me (finding a sailboat buy owner is like catching a fart in the wind) thinks Im all over the place in this boat market.
He is right, I sure the hell am. My latest engagement is the Hunter center cockpit Passage line of boats. I would love to get any info or opinions from currant or past owners. Thanks guys.

If you want your wife / signification other to get into sailing, they are good coastal cruising boats. They are very roomy with lots of amenities.

Too many have in-mast furling which negates the reason for the B&R rig which allows for a very high roach main.

I will never take another into blue water. Been there, done that.

We know several owners... One of whom attempted to sail from SF to Vancouver, inviting a couple with round-the-world experience along for support. The first day or so out the arch/traveler support was flexing so badly that the experienced crew insisted on returning to port after which the owners trucked the boat north. They have since resold it.

Another couple with one complained that it was very difficult coming alongside a low float when docking.. the excessive excessive freeboard making it an 'ankle breaking jump'.

Great liveaboards, though, if you have dock steps!

I purchased a 2000 Passage 450 last year and have not regretted it. There seems to be a bit of a prejudice against Hunters on this forum, but for my needs it fits the bill perfectly.
You may want to check out Hunterowners.com and look at the reviews from actual owners.

Thanks for the info. I think they would make a great coastal cruiser.
