New to sailing

As a kid I was able to sail any boat with "sun" or "fish"!in its name. We has a Sunfish, a Sailfish and a Sunflower. After a long hiatus I am back hopefully to learn and teach our three kids. Thank you for all the info and this great site.

Re: New to sailing

My supervisor at work used to sail a Sunfish years ago and he always talks about what a blast he had on the Great Salt Lake.

I'm new too, but wish to offer you a welcome! It certainly seems like there is a lot of experienced sailors here.

Re: New to sailing

My families sailing days ended after my parents moved down to the Outer Banks and we sailed the Sunfish on the Currituck Sound- which was incredible. A Nor'easter put an end to that (late 90's) . After it was over the only thing left of the Sunfish was the little chrome handle at the bow- but the cable was still attached to the cinder block. To this day I wonder why we never found a replacement.
