San Diego Sailor

Well, sailor in a way at the moment. I am in the Navy, which terms me as a sailor. However, my sailboat is not in any condition to sail, so I guess I am more a floater. I bought myself a 45 foot Bruce Roberts Custom Ketch a couple years back and have been in the process of overhauling it since. I wanted the hull. The boat was a decent price for what it was. The wife and I lived on it for a bit, but we moved off to make it easier to do what we want with it. It has turned out to be one heck of a project and I like that. Keeps my hands busy, and my mind as well. Always changing the ideas of what we plan on doing with every inch of her. At least the same concept stays, just a few specifics here and there change now.

Welcome, navstan.

Best of luck with your project. Did you do any sailing prior to buying the ketch?

Re: San Diego Sailor

I have sailed smaller vessels, yes. Not in any huge basis. with the difference between this and the past boats I have sailed, and the time in between... I will be taking some courses. But when I do I am also going to be enrolling my daughter into the courses.
