Sailboat Liveaboards but New to Cruising

We've lived aboard for 5 yrs. Finally going cruising 1/01/14 on our Morgan Classic 41 (5ft draft). Heading south to Key Largo to spend time with family before heading to the Bahamas in March. Would appreciate recommendations on the best cruising guide to buy & any tips on the best area for March & April in the Bahamas. Also, any advice in general for a very limited budget cruise would be appreciated.
