Re: Well Hi Ya!

Congradulations.
Do you have your boat yet?
If so pictures?
If not what are you looking for?

The lesson from the Icarus story is not about human failing.
It is a lesson about the limitations of wax as an adhesive.
If you have an engineering problem solve it.

Talking Re: Well Hi Ya!

our search has begun for our final/next home. we are looking toward a 37-44 catamaran, no fly bridge with a galley down and the master up in front of the salon. We are finishing up the house here in Ohio and hope to have it on the market by Christmas for the spring buying season. if all goes well we hope to be in furniture liquidation early spring and shopping hard based out of my mothers home in hernando fl. let the adventure begin!

Re: Well Hi Ya!

Sounder,

Has your lovely bride been on the water for any length of time yet? You might make that happen before you cut ties to the land. Many, maybe most, women folk don't like sailing. Many do and we have ladies here that could easily sail me under the table. I'm lucky. My wife gets reallly grumpy if I say we can't sail on the weekend. She doesn't know much be she likes it. Probably because I do most of the work and cooking on the boat. She mostly enjoys the weather, reads and makes me wonder how I got so lucky,

Fisher of men?

Don

Re: Well Hi Ya!

Hey Don!
She sailed a little in her youth and is an extreme outdoorsy girl. The plan is to do some Marina Life to break her in for the First year or so and day/weekend sail trips that would grow into longer adventures. She (like me) gets grumpy when the water freezes and the sky's turn grey. So I am looking forward to the expariment and willing to take what life brings us.
As for the fisher of men, I used to moonlight a s the technical director for a couple full media churches. lots of fun but being pushed/steered new things!

Re: Well Hi Ya!

I was sound tech/doall for one of the largest churches in Maine, about 1100. Being one of the 20%, I burned out after about a decade. Now I play hooky more than I should and sail most weekends in the summer.

Re: Well Hi Ya!

I totally understand the 20% and burn out. I swore that when I left Spring Hills (1900 per week/4 services)over 15 years ago I was going to be done. Then I was asked to help plant another church Vineyard Grace (now over 2300 and 4 servces) and two years ago Gracetown Church (500 and 2 services). Since leaving last Easter I have been "relaxing" and keep my music/lighting/rigging etc contained to the UncleUncanny Music Festival in Utah and I am trying to keep my fingers out of things for a while. We will see how long it lasts. lol
