Hey all, just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Steve, I'm from Michigan but have been living in St. Pete for going on 9 years and loving it. I am a yacht broker, but don't worry this isn't why I'm here. I have owned and been aboard many a powerboat but sailboats I'm still learning. I never actually seen the appeal until about a year ago, I sold a 96' Hunter 40.5 Legend. It was at the time the nicest sailboat I had ever been on, I had been on sailboats before that but there was something about that boat and the way it was laid out. Anyways, the owner hoisted the sails and cutoff the engine. I remember feeling the wind grab those sails and hearing.... nothing. I instantly got it, ever since then I have been slowly teaching myself (books, Youtube) and with work it certainly helps.
I have plans of moving aboard, I'm probably about 1-2 years away from making that happen. I'm lucky because I can work from anywhere with wifi. I want to pay cash, no boat loans for me. I know the marina I want to live and have a pretty good idea of what I want in a boat but who knows that may change. I look forward to learning here on the forum and assisting when I can. Many silly questions await!! :svoilier:
