fish out of water

hi i'm dave. we've owned an 86' catalina 27 since 2001 (1st sailboat). i grew up on puget sound but always had power boats. growing up on the bay has put the sea in my veins and, thankfully my wife cannot get enough of the water also. i started out as a carpenter, but have spent the last 25yrs.as a commercial plumber. my main passion for the last 35yrs. has been woodworking and i am one of those 'twisted' individuals who actually loves to work on their boat. long story longer, i know alot about building, but next to nothing about the computer-never been in a forum-never been in a chat room-don't know what a thread is but i'm slowly learning. i found one thing in construction(life in general) to be true "two heads are better than one". multiply that by the entire Sailnet community and maybe i won't feel like a fish out of water on this dang thing-if i can just find the replies. what knowledge i have is your's-if i can figure-out how to get it to you.
