Thumbs up New to this Forum

Hi Folks!
Just wanted to introduce myself. Unfortunately, I am on the couch. Last week I had an operation on my leg, and I didn't listen to the doctor.... now I am paying for it!!! That's OK. Two days off from work, dog at my feet, searching the net for anything to do with sailing.... perfect!!
Anyway, I am new here and looking forward to meeting folks and sharing some of my life-long experiences out on the seas and rivers. Not always good ones, but always learning ones!! And always interesting!!
Toss me a line, I'll tie you on, and let's swap a story or two!

A story, ehh... How about a little about my experience?
I started sailing when I was 18 months old! OK, I know, that would be more like riding along, but I have been out on the water ever since. Mom has always said I have sea water running through my veins! I enjoy all types of sailing and I have even lived aboard! I have sailed on many vessels, enjoyed them all, and I am grateful to all those who have enlightened me with their knowledge and experiences. I have taught sailing, navigation, maintenance, and common sense to many, and I have learned much more from all! I am always learning something about sailing! I guess you could say I am more of a blue water sailor than any other, yet I enjoy crewing in a race too! You will usually find me tethered in on the deck during a head-sail change, buried in a bow wave, and loving every second of it!
I owned a 42' woody, gaffed rigged, which I lived aboard, maintained, and single-handed for a few years, but had to sell her to take care of some other things. Oh, well. I will soon have another. I have plans to build a 30' day-sailer, but I think I may put that idea back onto the bucket list and go rescue a glass boat in need of a good home. We'll see.
For the moment, I need to get the leg back into shape so I can get back out there! I already missed a couple of spring fit-outs and launchings because of it and I probably will miss a delivery or two, but I am cancer free and loving every moment of that too!
Chuck
