Talking Familiar with boats and the seas; intent on learning to sail.

Hello,

I'm new to this world of sailing; hoping to figure it out and get a boat of my own!

I am a 32 year old female, painter, and graduate of sustainability studies dedicated to learning the art of sailing. From 3 years in the U.S. Navy, I am trained in shipboard engineering, damage control, quality maintenance, and watches; trained as a bosun and a helmsman. I'm also an excellent painter and artist. I am vibrant and easy-going; I love cooking, listening and singing to music, and time to myself in a social setting.

I would love to share my enthusiasm and skills in exchange for passage to La Palma, Canaries around the 9th of August; from the Canaries to the Island of Lesbos the beginning of September; or from the Canaries to the Americas (U.S., Caribbean, or Brasil) when the time is right.

Though I'm very experienced with boats and the seas; all I know, so far, about sailboats is that I want to learn all about them.

I'm currently in the North-East of Ibiza.

My website (for my paintings) is Paintings by fish townsEnd. There's a weBLog that describes my most recent work in natural building in Mexico and here in Spain.

"The earth is a living system To whom time does not matter As much As to Hrr colonists...
A symbiosis between all living species Shares a patience With the time Which does not exist...
It doesn't matter how long it takes For a tree To get you To open your heart When you look to the sky...
We embody what we listen to, Reflecting at the surface The energy within.
Water is the universal language, With which faithful froggy companions DIE to share simple conversation...
I get it As I Whisper blessings, And watch the words I choose, While language falls away...
The chorus sings Of this gathering to this land, Like the frogs song to water.
The sound of individuals rise up And crash like waves Onto a land which By its very shape Caresses its own reply into form...
Everything gardens Everything sings Patience."

Welcome aboard.

If you are looking to crew, consider going to the crew wanted forum. Be careful who you hop on a boat with.
