Hello from Southern Cal

Joined a while ago but never looked at the forum. Been sailing for a while back in Newport RI, now in Southern Cal and lived aboard for a 5yr stint after the Navy. 2 things that I have learned

1. Rich people get to go sailing and poor people get to work on their boats.
2. If you like sailing find a friend with a boat, if you like working on boats, buy one.

I love working on boats, my boat, and get plenty of practice on my 1975 Ranger 33. The interior might be seventies brown strips but it is still in good shape so why replace it. Keep it simple and improvise.
