Thumbs up Greatings from Florida

Hello I am a new sailboat owner and currently restoring a '74 Tanzer 22. I belong to the tanzer group on Yahoo and they have been a great help to any questions that I have.

I am brand new to sailing and actually I have never sailed before but I am a advid waterman and have exp on my flats boat and also capt my father in laws offshore fishing boat when needed so the ocean is nothing new to me.

When I got my boat she was very dirty and needed alot of TLC. So far I have cleaned it inside and out, replaced all of the portholes with new lexan, spline, and sponge, refurbished all of the interior and exterior wood, added Tile to my bulkhead wall and table, and currently getting ready to start on the bottom of the boat (new paint, por 55 on my keel ect.)

Current projects & items left before launch other then the bottom include all new electrical (have a deep cycle Energizer batt already), all new LED lights, new sheets, new stanuchen and life lines, (she didnt come with them), new bilge (dont know if the one i have works yet) and last an outboard eng (pref a 15hp)

Im trying to keep her as original as possible with hopes that my boat will learn to trust me with time. Just wanted to introduce myself and my boat and look forward to chatting with all of you.

p.s. I got the complete sailor and its a great read!

New here

Grew up sailing on New England coastal waters. Now live in New Hampshire.
Once owned a Cape Dory Typhoon. Sailed once on a 50' yawl from Moorehead City to Virgin Islands - 10 days, in the early 1970's.

Have a "Saroca" from mid-80's, which have not used for over dozen years while stored in garage, never seen salt water - just New Hampshire lakes: 17' sailing rig, rowing rig, canoe, but beamier than regular canoe. No trailer. Moving to smaller location and must sell. Need good site to post listing. Any suggestions?

George

I did something wrong - I tried to start a new thread.

I am not in FL, but have visited many times. My sister & husband have small place west of Port Charlotte, and we sail out of Annapolis, but I live in New Hampshire and sail on inland lake waters!
