Hi Everybody

Hello, Just wanted to say hi. I'm new to Sailnet but not new to sailing (albeit a little inexperienced). My entire experience with sailing has been knockin' about in my little sabot when I was younger. Well since then I've gotten the bug again and would like to teach my wife to sail as well. My first steps to this is going to be restoring my sabot and getting it on the water again. I also would like to give a try at building my own boat. I kinda have my eye on either the Glen-L 14 or 15. Having never built a boat before I'm not sure if there are good to start with or not but I've ready they are easy enough for first time builders.

Well that's about it for now. I look forward to meeting you all.

Later.

Welcome Aboard...Is She excited about sailing...If not I would suggest that you get her out in something a little bigger for her first sail..Mine would have been scared to death and put off of sailing for good in a tiny boat.

Just something to think about.. Our dream isn't always our spouses if you know what I mean.

Thanks. I don't know whether excited would be the right choice of words but she does want to learn. We both love the water and love being on the water. She has been sailing with me before on a Hobie cat and really liked it.

Greenman, You've already done the hard part. (Making the decision) Damn the torpedoes full speed ahead. You'll definitely feel better in life!

Fair winds,

lol Cool. Thanks for the encouragement. Now I just need to get a vessel on the water. Probably gonna start restoring my Sabot today. All it really needs is some wood refinishing, a little fiberglass repair around the lee board mount and repainting. Most of the blocks and other hardware is good. I'll be taking inventory to see what all needs replacing.
