Cool Steven

Hello Everyone: I am still fairly new to the SailNet Community. I began reading sailnet forums when learning to sail my first boat, a McGregor 26S. I have sold it and bought a fast little regatta racing sailboat and I have learned so much more about sailing by taking motors out of the mix. I am now searching for the perfect pocket cruiser to suit my sailing needs. I have a family of four, and need to sail in multiple locations and have beachable capabilities in order to let my exploring crew off the boat when they get restless. I have whittled my choices down to a Potter 19 or Compac 19 or 23 in my searching, but plan on keeping my fast little daysailer. I will one day own a larger vessel, but for now, that would cripple the amount of sailing I can do, due to my lifestyle and family needs. I have found the SailNet forums informational and extremely helpful, and literally, a lifeline connecting my desire to sail with actual sailing. I have had no-one to teach me, and so the forums have been amazing sources of wisdom and advice. Blessings, new friends!
Steven

Hi Steve & a formal welcome aboard! I like the Compac23 and think that with 4 aboard it would be a nice choice for you. Good luck on the decision making!

Thanks kindly for the advice. I have found some Compac 23's to peruse. The new Compac Eclipse is a 21 foot boat which looks like loads of fun to sail and easy to launch and recover. But not sure how I feel about the open ended cockpit.
