Ahoy - East Coaster here!

Howdy all,

I grew up sailing a 14' sunfish every summer on the lakes in Upstate NY. I bought a 42' steel hull cutter 3 years ago and I'm in the process of doing a complete refit.

I grew up on the Manasquan River and have been around boats all my life including spending a good many years as a boat mechanic.

This is my first sailboat, and my first big boat. It's been very hard work and also a lot of fun. A couple buddies and myself had her aout for a sail Labor Day weekend in 20+kt easterlies and she did awsome!!!

The boat is located at Dallas Bluff about 40 miles south of Savannah, GA off of the Sapelo Sound.

Look forward to participating in this great hobby and on this great site!

due to my limited number of post i cannot pm you

I am currently stationed at hunter army airfield in savannah, I have no experience sailing or being crew for a sailboat but I would love you crew/sail on your boat if you ever need/have a slot open I am only able to on the weekends due to work, but I intend to buy my own boat around December time frame and would like a little more experience then reading sailing for dummies

Smile New and Green!

I have never sailed a oday 25 before or anything of size. Just small boats. I have had this boat for two years and struggling putting it back together. I live in central Florida and hope to sail soon. I look forward to the insight and experinces of others.

East Coaster from Canada

Well somewhat new to Sailnet, however I have been a member for a couple of years. I am know on a journey to make a journey. Starting plans for my coastal cruise from Nova Scotia to the Bahama's and beyond.

Just finished a great book by "Silver Donald Cameron" called: Sailing away from winter. I greatly reccommend this book for any cruiser that is looking to sail down the ICW and to the Bahama's. He and his wife and dog made the complete sail by sailing for only 8 hours everyday or about 40 miles.

Anyway looking forward to making new friends and learning more about great destinations for my journey.

Capt. Todd

Waverider...good luck with the plans. It is indeed quite possible. We know 4 different NS couples that made that run in fairly small boats that we met in the Bahamas. Here's one such couple:

A really nice place to end up!

No longer posting. Reach me by PM!
