FlatTop is on a distinguished road
Newbie from MO

Greetings, I'm not only a newbie here but I'm fairly new to sailing. Did the powerboating thing years ago, so I'm not a boating novice.
But, after many years of no boat and going out on friends' boats I got the itch for the water again.
I learned sailing basics from a friend who had a Mac 26S here on the Alton Pool of the Mississippi River. Sailed there, on lakes and the Intracoastal Waterway around Ft. Walton Beach.
I'm no expert, but I can get from point A to point B.
My friend sold his Mac and got a Helms 27, and I'll be learning how to handle that.
Eventually my goal is to move to the Hampton Roads/northern NC area (my son lives there) and get my own boat and use it as a part time liveaboard until I can find permanent residence.
I realize I need to gain much more experience and ability and will probably getting some professional tutoring in the future. I realize I know just enough to be dangerous...LOL
Meanwhile I'll be hanging out, gleaning info from the salts, old and new.
Looking forward to the ride!
